The Old Laundry Yard Needs You

Old Laundry Yard
The Old Laundry Yard at Shepherd's Bush Market is a potentially promising space for outdoor eating, but so far it doesn't seem to be getting much footfall.

I had lunch there last week with an old friend, and at noon we were the only customers.

Which was a shame, as lunch was seriously delicious - and I'll definitely be going back.

Jollof Mama Ghanaian Food
I recommend the Ghanaian "Jollof Mama", which served delicious chicken and rice, from a friendly mother-daughter team.

Other offerings nearby felt like more conservative choices, but my friend pronounced his burger delicious - and  there is also a useful bar where you can buy drinks to wash it all down.

It all has a fresh, unpretentious vibe, with plenty of potential to expand if things get busy.

The Old Laundry Yard was to have been the temporary home for the market traders, while the Market itself was being redeveloped. Since then, the space has sat empty, so the new venture offers a chance to make good use of idle real estate.
Tucking in

If you're having trouble finding it, the Old Laundry Yard is an extension of Shepherd's Bush Market, occupying the old laundry site behind the market.  You will find it on the east side of the market, and you can access it from the main north-south thoroughfare which runs alongside the railway arches.

It is open 11am to 8.30pm Sunday to Wednesday and 11am to 10.30pm Thursday to Saturday.
