New Playground for Hammersmith Park

The children's playground at Hammersmith Park has been finished at last, having been redeveloped after the children's climbing frames were removed in February and March of 2018.

It took a while, but full credit to our Council for getting it done, and to a high standard.

At the end of last year local residents got to vote on plans to improve the park, and since then LBHF has moved ahead with the new construction, which is now more or less complete.

The new playground includes climbing frames and lots of fun new equipment.

There are a few quibbles. It would have been nice to have more swings - on a busy day there never seem to be enough.

But for the most part the new playground is a welcome addition to Hammersmith Park, which is starting to feel like a genuinely nice place to spend time with your children. The bouncy trampoline is a particularly welcome addition, as are the new benches, new climbing frames, and see-saw.

Now if we can just persuade the local alcoholics not to smash their beer bottles in the playground and on the lawns where our children play - that would be a happy day.
