FOSBG Dreams of a Better Shepherd's Bush Green

Hoxton Hotel opens tonight
On 24th November Jonathan Pearl, Chair of The Friends of Shepherd's Bush Green, hosted a public meeting to discuss FOSBG plans for the improvement of Shepherd's Bush Green.

The meeting was held at The W12 Centre on 24 November, and was well-attended by members of the council, the police and also by our local MP.  Plans were presented for a community garden on the western edge of Shepherd's Bush Green, with local architects exploring ideas to regenerate and revive our local landscape.

FOSBG
The Friends of Shepherds Bush Green has begun to build a network of local support, seeking to build a consensus around new ideas to improve the Green.

Do we at lastdare to dream that the Green can be better than it is now?

A Message from The Chair
Jonathan Pearl, Chair
Jonathan Pearl, chair of FOSBG, said "I am convinced that many of the problems local residents face regarding drug dealing, alcohol abuse etc. could be improved by upgrading the infrastructure in and around the Green, and getting the local community to “own” those improvements."

FOSBG ideas for the Improvement of Shepherd's Bush Green:
  • Installing static exercise equipment on the Green - an "Adult Gym"
  • Moving some of the benches apart so that they don’t attract big groups of people and all-day drinkers
  • Community garden on the Western end of the Green, in association with Hammersmith Community Gardens Association
  • Planting bulbs and generally improving the landscape
  • Working with local businesses to help fund improvements to the Green
  • Community planting days to get local people involved
