Story Stock Starts Today At The Bush Theatre

From today Wednesday October 28 until Friday October 30, StoryStock returns to the Bush Theatre, bringing art and culture to children of all ages.

Children are invited to learn about stories, drawing, films - even animation.

The event takes place over three days - each day has a special focus. One day has an emphasis on story telling, another is all about drawing and visual arts.

Another day is "The Adventure Day", with more stories and story telling workshops. It is often said that you can't teach creativity. But you can certainly teach kids what creativity is all about, and how children can start to tell their own stories, with words and drawings as their tools.

Author Chris Riddell will be headlining the STORYSTOCK book festival this October Half Term. He will be doing the first in a series of new live-drawing Q&A's where children can ask questions and get their replies drawn by Riddell to take away.

Other favourite authors attending this 3 day extravaganza include: Judith Kerr, Cerrie Burnell, Jamila Gavin, Kristina Stevenson, Sarah McIntyre and Philip Reeve. Exciting entertainment will be provided by The Music House for Children, Hip Hop Shakespeare and The Harry Potter Show.

Book your tickets now for animation workshops, live-literature shows, author talks and storytelling sessions.

They also have - new this year - something just for parents. 'Ask the Expert' events with debates between the 'Idle Parent' (Tom Hodgkinson) and the 'Pushy Parent'(Toby Young); plus tech, parenting and nutrition gurus giving us all pointers on how to navigate the choppy waters of parenting.
