Westfield Launches Community Grants Scheme

Got a local project in need of finance? Westfield London, the giant mall whose expansion north up Wood lane will make them by far the biggest shopping centre in the UK, has launched a new community grants initiative.

The community grants scheme will support local organisations with up to £1,000 each. Up to twenty projects will be selected each year over the next two years. So, what kind of projects might receive funding?

What's this all about?
As it expands its local operations, Westfield is keen to be a good neighbour. Its community grants panel, led by representatives from local businesses, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, local organisations and Westfield London, will judge bids from local organisations.

What are the criteria for applications?
Applications are to be selected based on three themes:

  • Innovative and creative approaches to employment, entrepreneurship and training
  • Opportunities for young people aged 16-24
  • Support for people with disabilities or health problems

Successful applicants should match at least one of these themes.

What is the deadline?
Applications should be submitted no later than 17 June 2016.
