Kier to Start Construction at Macfarlane Place in March

Kier Construction
The construction company Kier has been appointed to start building the 142 new "affordable homes" to be created at Macfarlane Place, Television Centre, with work scheduled to start in March 2022.

Macfarlane Place will replace the former BBC Car Park on Wood Lane which is now almost demolished - much to the relief of long-suffering local residents.

Joint Venture - Stanhope, Mitsui & Peabody
Construction is a joint venture between Stanhope, Mitsui and others, in partnership with the Peabody Housing Association, who will operate the new building.  Completion is expected in early 2024, meaning two more years of noise and disruption for the residents of Macfarlane Rd.

Peabody
Designs for Macfarlane Place
The new building that will replace the car park was originally designed by Stanhope, the site developers, but the building is to be owned and operated by Peabody Trust; it will be called Macfarlane Place, and comprises two buildings, including 142 "affordable" housing units (We put "affordable" in inverted commas because the concept is rather an elusive one).

Zoom Meetings
Cantillon, who are the demolition company preparing the site, have been hosting regular Zoom meetings on the third Wednesday of every month, for local residents.

If you would like to be added to the invitation list, please email macfarlane.place@televisioncentre.com
