The result is everything our neighbourhood could hope for, a lively, bustling bar filled with energy and life. Who knew that going out for a drink in Shepherd's Bush could be so civilised?
With the lovely Albertine wine bar having closed earlier this year, the Hoxton adds glamour and fun to Shepherd's Bush nightlife.
Hoxton Hotel
Planning Permission
Planning permission for the site was originally granted back in 2017, but the owner of a flat in nearby Pennard Rd successfully challenged the development by way of Judicial Review, and managed to get the plans quashed, forcing the developers to re-apply for planning permission - with revised plans. Only now have the developers finally managed to complete the building.
Hoxton Hotel on Shepherd's Bush Green
It was way back in April 2017 details were revealed of a new proposed Hoxton Hotel to be built on the west side of Shepherd's Bush Green. The proposed new hotel would displace the old Post Office, and the existing buildings were to be demolished.
Demolition
On the right you can see how things used to be - the old Threshold & Union House 65 Shepherd's Bush Green, first built in the 1960s, and now demolished to make way for the Hoxton hotel.
Local Reaction
The developers consulted widely in our community and the Hammersmith Society, guardians of good architecture in our neighbourhood, was broadly supportive of the scheme, saying that "redevelopment is appropriate for the site", since the existing building "makes no positive contribution to the west side of Shepherds Bush Green".

The new Hoxton Hotel joins the refurbished Palladium (the transformed former Walkabout Pub) and the Dorsett Hotel to create a corridor of life and vitality on the West side of Shepherd's Bush Green.

The Hoxton Group have at last completed their long held ambition to build a new hotel on the western edge of Shepherd's Bush Green.
The scaffolding is down, and the new building is a bright, handsome addition to the neighbourhood.
