LBHF Summer Grants Scheme Launched

United in Hammersmith & Fulham, our borough’s new place-based giving scheme, has launched a Summer Get Together grants scheme, and is looking for up to 40 local events to fund.

Through the scheme United will help support anyone in the borough organising a picnic, street party, lunch, sporting event, fun day or other community activity with and for their neighbours.

The United in Hammersmith & Fulham initiative is inspired by the national Great Get Together initiative, set up in memory of murdered politician Jo Cox.

United particularly encourage people who want to use these events to reduce social isolation and loneliness in Hammersmith & Fulham by developing new relationships across diverse faiths, ethnicities, ages and backgrounds.

Grants will usually be in the range of £50 - £200 but United ask you to get in touch if you would like to discuss something bigger.

Kevin McGrath DL, Chair of United, and Deputy Lieutenant for the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, said “Whether you want to organise a tea party between two or more different faiths, host a lunch to introduce cultural foods to those on your street from different backgrounds, or bring new people from the surrounding area into your community centre for an activity – this is for you.”

To find out more, or to apply today, visit the United in Hammersmith & Fulham Summer ‘Get Togethers’ webpage.
