Uxbridge Road Jewelery Robbery

Uxbridge Rd Jewelery shop robbed
The Uxbridge Road jewelery shop which was the subject of a ram raid robbery in 2019 has been robbed again, with thieves apparently breaking in last night while local residents (including me) were asleep.

The criminals appear to have cut their way through the protective steel shutters and then smashed their way through two glass windows.

Uxbridge Road Closed
This morning the Uxbridge Road was closed, with Police tape blocking neighbouring streets.  Police crime scene investigators were on the scene taking pictures, and uniformed police were keeping the public away from the junction of Uxbridge Rd and Hopgood St.

Two of the shop's shuttered windows were smashed open, suggesting that thieves managed to get in through two sides of the building.

Debris left in the street also suggests that thieves got away with at least some of what they were looking for.

One local resident described being woken at night by the noise of the attack but, not knowing what it was, simply went back to sleep.

2019 Ramraid
Last night's robbery comes just seven years after the same jeweler was the subject of a ram raid robbery back in 2019, a daylight attack in which at least one of the thieves was apprehended by members of the public and, later, given a prison sentence
