Local Elections - Who Will Win in LBHF on May 7?

LBHF Seats by Ward - Wikipedia
On May 7th we have local council elections, and all 50 seats on our council the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham are up for grabs. The question is - who will win?

LBHF has been Labour-run since 2014; Labour currently holds a commanding majority.  At the last election in 2022, Labour won 40 of 50 seats, with the Conservatives taking the remaining 10 seats, mostly in the leafier southern wards in Fulham. Take a peek at the map to the left to see the spread of votes.

Despite a more difficult national picture for Labour, local projections still suggest the party is likely to retain control in LBHF.

Pollcheck.co.uk suggests that, while opposition to Labour is strong, the opposition vote is split between the four challenging parties - Conservative, Reform, Lib Dem and Greens.

2022 Results

In 2022 Shepherd's Bush Green  returned two Labour councillors, Mercy Umeh and Zarar Qayyum, with large majorities, albeit on a low turnout of just 28.3%.  The Lib Dems and the Conservatives came in a distant second and third.  Wikipedia has the full 2022 results

Labour Defections to Greens
Since 2022, two Labour councillors have defected to the Greens and one former Labour councillor now sits as an independent.

Could Reform Win?
On friday night a well-informed friend (and Labour sup

porter) suggested over a pint at the Shepherd's Bush Cricket Club bar that Reform could well win in LBHF.  And indeed, LBHF Council leader Steven Cowan's election videos also suggest that Labout fears a Reform-led council (or perhaps a Reform-Conservative coalition).   Leaflets from both The Greens and The Lib Dems claim that their party is ahead in the polls, ahead even of Labour.  These claims cannot all be true.

Hard Evidence?
It is hard to find hard evidence of local polling.  Anyone who has better information - please post below. Perhaps we are not searching hard enough for data.

Labour Win?
The safest prediction? Labour remains the favourite to hold LBHF — though perhaps with a slimmer majority.
