Debbie Jo cafe opens on Brook Green

The cafe next to the tennis courts on Brook Green has re-opened after a long period of closure.

Now run by the Debbie Jo cafe chain, the refurbished cafe brings outdoor life back to Brook Green. 

Brook Green is a topsy-turvy mirror of what Shepherd's Bush Green could be, with a little imagination -  family friendly, with tennis courts and plenty of things to do for kids.

Sitting outside in dappled sunshine with a coffee and a croissant, waiting for a tennis court to open up. It's how life in the Bush ought to be. 

Some years ago, there was a tennis court on Shepherd's Bush Green.  But for reasons that were never clear, the courts were removed by the council over a decade ago.  

And, of course, there is no cafe on Shepherd's Bush Green, nowhere to buy a coffee, no reason to stop and watch the world go by. 

Better to hurry on through, and hope no-one stops you to ask you for money - or worse.
