W12 Festival 2016 |
The day will be full of family activities, local performers, street food from local caterers and "an opportunity to celebrate all that’s good and inspiring about our little patch of London".
And tomorrow, on Thursday 2nd June, there's a "creative workshop" from 2-4pm for local residents to pitch ideas and get involved.
What's this all about?
It's the W12 Summer Festival. A big street party that's family-friendly.
Where and when?
This year the festival will take place in freshly made-over Wormholt Park. Saturday 23rd July from 1pm until 7pm
How can I get involved?
Big Local are seeking volunteers to help on the day of the event and would "love for as many local residents to be involved as possible". They are also looking for performers – bands, singers, drummers, dancers, comedians, spoken word artists, children entertainers – as well as local caterers and market stall holders.
To get involved, contact Lucy Mullaly, Big Local Marketing and Events Coordinator. lucy@ourbiglocal.org.uk
Big Local will also be hosting a free creative workshop on Thursday 2nd June from 2-4pm at the White City Community Centre for anyone who is interested in creating works of art or decorations for the festival.
This event will kick-start a season of making, open to all ages. They have some "fun ideas around yarn bombing, decorating park benches, and bringing a fun, colourful and vibrant atmosphere to the festival this year through art but also look forward to hearing the ideas of local residents".
