White City Place Public Consultation June 28, June 30 & July 2

BBC White City in 2013
The developers of White City Place (that's the old BBC White City site at the top of Wood Lane, next to the Westway) are hosting a series of public consultations on their plans to redevelop and refurbish the site.

There are to be three such events, to be held on on June 28, June 30 and July 2 at the Wood Lane Community Centre, and local residents are invited to come along, view the architectural plans on display, and offer their views.

The evenings are as follows:

Tuesday June 28
Wood Lane Community Centre
White City Close, W12
5pm until 8pm

Thursday June 30
Wood Lane Community Centre
White City Close, W12
5pm until 8pm

Saturday 2 July
Wood Lane Community Centre
White City Close, W12
11am until 2pm

According to Stanhope, who are developing not just the old BBC TV Centre site on Wood Lane but have also expanded their operations to include White City Place,  this new development will still include and involve the BBC.  Most of the new plans involve refurbishing the existing office buildings (in keeping with the current business-park feel of the site) and improving the landscaping. This is not a bottom-up redevelopment, unlike much of what is being built elsewhere in our neighbourhood.

Stanhope's plans are due to be "completed by mid-2017".
