Tube Strike Wednesday 7 November

Central Line is on strike on Friday
London Underground station staff on both the Central Line and the Piccadilly Line are to go on strike on Wednesday 7 November.

The planned Piccadilly Line strike will be a little later on the same day, starting in the afternoon.

So, if you're trying to get into town on Wednesday, you can do so on the Picadilly Line. Getting home will be trickier, as both lines will be down.

Check before you travel and visit tfl.gov.uk/tube-strike or @TfLTravelAlerts for live information.

What's the strike about? Who knows? Public safety? Working conditions? TFL drivers get paid almost £50k a year as a starting salary, plus 43 days off a year. Which is nice work if you can get it.  Except you can't, because it's a closed shop.

To cheer yourself up, watch the London Underground song below:

And, to imagine a utopian vision of the future with no drivers, and no strikes - follow this link. Think it'll actually happen? Not if TFL employees have anything to do with it.
