Help the Masbro Centre Run on Sunshine

The Masbro Centre in Brook Green is crowdfunding new solar panels, to help our neighbourhood go a little more green (and help them save money on their electricity bills).

The Urban Partnership Group want to install 64 solar panels to the roof of the Masbro Community Centre, to generate its own electricity and use the funds saved for much needed community projects.

Masbro Centre
The Masbro Centre is a local community centre run by the charity Urban Partnership Group. It provides services including a children’s centre, parenting support, a youth club, adult education and a programme of activities for elders, as well as providing space for arts and fitness activities.

£46,276 Needed
UPG need to raise £46,276.  To date they have had 117 backers and raised 50% of the required funds.

One local parent describes Masbro Centre as "a great local resource for parents and children.  It's good green initiative and will save c£3k a year for the Centre for them to spend on other things."

As of today, they had raised about half the necessary funds, with 46 days to go.

So, for all those locals who are worried about environmental issues, especially, climate change, now is your chance to put your hand in your pocket and pony up.

What having the Solar Panels will mean:
  • Masbro will generate its own green energy source, approximately 19,000kwh per year
  • Money saved or generated, estimated at £65k over 20 years, will be spent on the upkeep of the Masbro and community projects
  • Over 11,000kg of CO2 emissions will be avoided each year
