Council to Spend £350,000 on Shepherd's Bush Green

Waterlogging on Shepherd's Bush Green in 2016
According to an article in MyLondon (formerly GetWestLondon) in November,  Shepherd's Bush Green is to get a £350,000 makeover to solve the problem of waterlogging on the Green.

Waterlogging is definitely a problem, and a number of people have mentioned this over the years, that - especially in winter - the Green can get badly waterlogged.

However, we've never run a blog post about it, largely because it's a much smaller problem than an awful lot of bigger problems that Shepherd's Bush Green has to put up with.

Top of my list would be: dealing with the street drinkers, enforcing the laws on littering, planting some bulbs and flowers, fixing up the playgrounds, and finding a solution to the rotting Edwardian loo-turned-nightclub near the war memorial.

So, while we welcome efforts by LBHF to make Shepherd's Bush Green a better place, £350,000 seems a lot of money to spend on what is definitely one the Green's smaller problems.
