Cathnor Park Neighbourhood Watch |
Concerned about anti-social behaviour and rising levels of crime, local residents are getting together with their neighbours to try and keep the Cathnor Park area a safe and friendly community for themselves and their families.
The Problem
As in many parts of our city, Cathnor locals have noticed a recent spike in drug and knife crime, as well as historic problems of littering, fly tipping and other anti social behaviour. With police numbers in decline, their hope is to organise locals to create a better sense of community, and help make things better.

The new Cathnor Park Neighbourhood Watch Scheme will have a launch meeting to meet local neighbours and collectively agree aims and objectives, as well as nuts and bolts issues such as how members will communicate with one another. The date for the first meeting is still to be confirmed but organiser Sarah Haskey will keep locals updated.
Improve Cathnor Park
Sarah is also launching an initiative to improve Cathnor Park itself and make it more of a community centred garden and park. The details of this are still being agreed but Sarah is working on preparing a survey to canvass local opinion on what people want from their park.
How to join
The Cathnor Park Neighbourhood Watch scheme is a new initiative to bring the local community together, by creating a better integrated network of neighbours looking out for each other and their area. The aim is to help residents feel safe and confident interacting with their local environment and community. To join or learn more, please email cathnorparknhw@gmail.com with your details.
The Cathnor Park Neighbourhood Watch scheme is backed by the Askew Police Safer Neighbourhoods team.
