Ghost Stories at the Lyric until 18 May

Ghost Stories is a hit play that started at our very own local theatre, the Lyric Hammersmith, and has now returned, playing until 18 May.

Ghost Stories is scary, funny, witty and very clever - one of those plays that you keep thinking about days later, to check whether you really fully understood what was going on.

Paranormal investigator
Ghost Stories was written by Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson, and works on multiple levels, building up to a clever twist in the final act which - obviously - I won't reveal here, and not just because the Lyric has sternly asked me not to.

The audience on the night when I attended seemed to be at least 50% teenage girls - all of whom appeared to looking forward to being deliciously scared out of their wits.

If you haven't heard of Andy Nyman, you have almost certainly come across his work. He is best known for his regular collaborations with the magician and psychological illusionist Derren Brown.

Ghost Stories began life in Hammersmith but since then has gone to the West End and has had productions in China, Australia, Canada, Europe and has also been turned into a film.

Ghost Stories has been extended until 18 May 2019.
