Hammersmith Society 2019 Environment Awards Open

2018 winner - Queen's Wharf Building
Nominations for the Hammersmith Society 2019 Environment Awards are now open.

If there is a new building in our neighbourhood that you like and admire - or even one you loathe - now is your chance to put it forward: for an Award - or a Wooden Spoon.

The 2019 Awards will be presented at the Society’s  AGM at Olympia on 12th June at 7.00pm at Olympia. The deadline for nominations is 15 May.

What is this all about?
The Hammersmith Society inaugurated its annual awards scheme in 1989. Its purpose is to recognise improvements in our borough’s townscape, whether this is for a new building, an imaginative renovation or adaptation of an old building, the creation or improvement of a green open space, a well-designed streetscape, or an improved shopfront. They also invite nominations for a Wooden Spoon for "architectural or environmental blots on the landscape".

Who can nominate?
Nominations for 2019 Awards are invited from anyone living or working in Hammersmith, as defined by the old Metropolitan Borough [including Shepherd's Bush - Ed]. Schemes must have been completed within the last two or three years, and must be visible from the public highway or accessible to the public.
