Westfield Sparkles But No Lights for The Bush

Westfield sparkles
Once again this Christmas, Westfield sparkles, but there are no Christmas decorations on the shopping streets around Shepherd's Bush Green.

Every year, Westfield puts on a display of light and colour, while Shepherd's Bush Green and the surrounding streets are left with nothing at all.

Even though local businesses pay business rates for local services, our Council appear unable to hang any Christmas decorations in our shopping streets.

Westfield Glitters
Westfield's decorations are impressive, but the sparkle inside the UK's largest shopping mall just underscores how dowdy the shopping streets in Shepherd's Bush are by comparison.

LBHF cuts back
Just like in 2020, 20192018, 2017, 20162015 and also 2014, our Council apparently cannot find any money for seasonal decorations for Shepherd's Bush Green or the surrounding streets.

No lights, no tinsel, no Christmas Tree, nothing to mark the season and cheer the place up.

Prior to 2014 there was at least a modest effort to help our local traders compete with the glamour of Westfield, by sprucing up the lamp-posts and hanging some lights.
